Robotics team
For three years, I have enrolled in School Robotics Team as a leading designer and an engineer. By participating in the VEX Robotics competition held annually, I learned to design and build robots that can catch cones and move to designated areas. Also, by learning how to control the robot's movement with a controller, I was able to interact with the robot itself. I have not only gained technical skills in mechanical engineering but also learned to collaborate and communicate with peers by overcoming harsh situations.
<My Role As The Leading Designer>
As a designer, I drew visual models of the robot to help teammates see and understand what our robot should look like. Since the physics behind building a working robot is complicated, it was essential for our team to have a detailed sketch of the robot and its parts. By thoroughly describing and explaining the functionality of each part of the robot, I assisted our team in identifying specific changes we made during the design and building process. After each competition, I wrote reflections on what adjustment our team should make on the robot for the next competition. I think the distinctive roles that each member of the team had in the building process truly helped us become a strong robotics team.
